Leaving a gift in your will

Donating to charity through your will allows charities to gain substantial amounts of funding that are exempt from inherent tax (IHT). In addition, there are IHT advantages if 10% or more of your net estate is left to charity; the IHT chargeable on the remainder of the estate is reduced from 40% to 36%.
