Opportunity Sheffield is the employment and skills service in Sheffield City Council

Element society is working with Opportunity Sheffield to deliver the Pathways to Success Project, part funded by the European Social Fund.

What are we doing?

The Pathways to Success Project is part of the Department for Work and Pensions European Social Fund Programme.

This funding aims to do the following:

  • provide a wide range of services for people of working age
  • promote gender equality and equal opportunities
  • promote sustainable and quality employment
  • promote social justice by combating poverty and any discrimination
  • provide help for those who find work but need continued support

In summary, this European Social Fund is helping us to deliver activities to help identify and overcome barriers young people aged 18+ when it comes to work, and help them achieve their potential.

Element Society is running short residential programmes, followed by an enterprise challenge for the young people we work with, to help build rapport with young people, and discuss the challenges they may face regarding employment. Young people then have the opportunity to work with a partner organisation to move on to the Ambition programme.
