Our new Chef's Circle project is launching soon!

Keep an eye out on our socials and this page for more easy-to-follow recipes with video tutorials!

Back in 2021...

Chef's Circle is a relaxed cooking-from-home programme where young people will be supported to learn how to cook 12 easy meals for their families.

Over the course of the pandemic, we've all spent more time at home and learned how to do new things. For anyone, regardless of age, cooking can be intimidating if you have no idea what you're doing!

Chef's Circle aims to give young people a boost in confidence as they start to learn how to cook by:

  • Providing step-by-step instructional videos showing how to cook the meals.
  • Recipe cards and ingredients lists are low-cost and simple to follow.
  • In 2021 we had a member of staff available on Instagram for live support from 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • In 2021, we were able to provide supermarket vouchers for young people (age 13-18) on free school meals.

Success so far

We send our thanks Blend Kitchen for allowing us to use their kitchen to film the first set of videos, and are looking forward to working more with them in the future! Check back later to see how the project is getting on. Tes, one of our Youth Workers turned chef has high hopes for the project:

This project is going to be great, cooking is such an important life skill and this project is going to help so many young people get started!

Can I still get involved?

We wouldn't have been able to run this project without funding from Bettys and Taylors Family Fund administered by Two Ridings Community Foundation. Find out more about our work with them.
